Arikpo Emmanuel Bassey is an Associate in the firm’s Energy and Corporate Practice Team. He supports clients in navigating Nigeria’s evolving energy landscape, with a focus on clean energy development, natural gas commercialization, and regulatory compliance across the oil and gas value chain. Emmanuel advises corporate and industrial clients on project structuring, permits and approvals, and engagement with key regulatory bodies, helping ensure legal compliance from investment planning to operational execution.
He has provided research support to strategic sustainable energy initiatives, including the UNDP Sustainable Energy Hub under SDG 7, contributing to work on clean energy access and policy pathways in developing economies. Emmanuel is also a Fellow of the Africa Youth Negotiators Fellowship (AYNF), a prestigious program strengthening Africa’s representation in climate diplomacy and the UNFCCC process.
A published commentator, Emmanuel has authored thought leadership on Nigeria’s renewable energy policy, the growing role of compressed natural gas, and the legal implications of industrial decarbonization.
